Edible Flower Lollipops!
We have become obsessed with making things with edible flowers and in this post I'll share how we made peppermint (the prettiest ones) and some chocolate ones. I think these peppermint lollipops are one of our new favourite ways to use them. They are so easy to make, taste delicious and look so pretty!
Three Recipes: Dandelion Bread (one sweet & one savoury) & Dandelion Honey
I am so excited it is finally Dandelion season! I have been quite impatiently waiting for them to start to be in bloom and to be in abundance! There are so many things we are planning to make with them this year and for now here's three recipes for you to try.
Coconut Balls with Violas & Pansies
After we made our Chocolate Bark it spurred a very strong desire to see what else we could make with edible flowers specifically what I could make with Violas & Pansies.
Chocolate Bark with Edible Spring Flowers
Everyone in our house is a huge chocolate lover so this was a really fun way to celebrate Spring and to just make our chocolate extra special. It all started because Nixie had gone into our garden and picked all of our Primroses so I wanted to think of something that we could make with them really quick so that they wouldn't go to waste and so after a search online I came up with the idea of chocolate Bark.
All about Kenya: Mancala, Clay pots, Paper beads & Shisima & new recipes
This past month we've been learning lots about Kenya thanks to a few different resources. We've been making our own board games, clay pots inspired by the Maasai and paper beads. And have also enjoyed some vegan Kenyan recipes too!
Two Snail Crafts: Paper & Clay
We just finished up Snail week in Exploring Nature With Children and we did two different kinds of crafts which I'm sharing with you in this post. We created the sweetest little snails out of clay and also some really simple paper ones using just a variety of circle sizes!
Nettle Bread
Since the beginning of this season I have been wanting to make Nettle Bread and now I can finally say that I have! It turned out great too! I did have the greatest little assistant to help me though which I think made it taste extra good.
My Very Yummy Rustic Primrose Jam
Last Wednesday while Nixie was at forest school me and Forrest went to our little special spot along the seawall and I couldn't help but notice Primroses everywhere! They are such happy little flowers, I can't help but smile whenever I see them. I didn't want to make crystallized flowers again, I really wanted to try something new so while Forrest had a nap I managed to make some Primrose Jam!
