Make Your Own Cherry Blossoms!
We've been learning about Japan and yesterday was all about the Cherry blossoms! We made our own Cherry Blossom branches and also painted some cherry blossoms.
Make Your Own Little Nature Moths
On one of our walks we found an Oak Eggar Caterpillar which led to us learning and researching about them when we got home. Then Nixie wanted to make some Oak Eggar Moths so we made these little cuties. I love the way they turned out!
DIY Tree ID Cards
I've always wanted to make our own Tree ID cards as I think it's such a great way to learn them and to have that information sink in more. So we decided to avoid the crazy heat and went for an early morning walk and collected leaves of some trees and then came home and made our ID cards.
DIY Barnacles!
We've been learning about barnacles ( such incredible little creatures!) so we had a go at making our own using some paper Mache pulp mix that I found in the cupboard. Maybe they don't really look like barnacles but I think they turned out really sweet
Sea Lavender Crown
While we were out foraging for Samphire I noticed we were surrounded by a sea of purple, Sea Lavender was all around us! I adore their pretty little flowers so I thought I'd try to make a flower crown out of it and I was quite pleased with how they turned out!
Polymer Clay Coral Reef
I really loved doing this project with Nixie and it ended up turning into a bit of a family project and Kevin joined in too. We had spent a lot of time reading, watching videos and learning about coral reefs and wanted to make our own coral reef diorama inspired by our favourite kinds of corals.
Elderflower Cordial
We finished making our elderflower cordial/syrup today. To be honest I wasn't really that fussed about finding elderflower this year as we made cordial last year and the cordial we made I didn't really like and normally I love all things elderflower but I decided to try again this year and this time it turned out so delicious!
Seashell Wall Hanging
Yesterday while the sky was cleansing our earth we made a seashell wall hanging with our ever growing collection of scallops. I absolutely love making things with the treasures we find. Each of these shells holds memories of fun times had at our special little beach.
