We just finished up Snail week in Exploring Nature With Children and we did two different kinds of crafts which I'm sharing with you in this post. We created the sweetest little snails out of clay and also some really simple paper ones using just a variety of circle sizes!

Clay Snails. The first craft we did was creating little snails using air dry clay and the shells we find at our little beach. These are so incredibly simple to do! All you need to do is roll out a shape for the body and add a shell! The shell won't stay on it's own so you will most likely need to add some glue to hold it in place once the snails are dry. You can either leave them as is or paint them. I also created another snail without using a shell and for that all I did was roll out a coil shape and rolled it up and scored it to the body (by making crisscross marks in the clay and adding water)

Paper Snails. The second craft we did was creating snails out of circles using coloured craft paper. The first thing you need to do is create two circles one smaller than the other using a compass. Then cut them out.

Take the larger circle and fold it in half

Now draw a spiral onto the smaller circle and glue onto the bigger circle and add your tentacles and eyes!

I made another one using a bunch of different sized circles using the colour of the rainbow which was also super easy and turned out really cute!
