Since the beginning of this season I have been wanting to make Nettle Bread and the other day I made it with Nixie although she actually was the one who showed me how, all I did was gather the ingredients for her. She's been making lots of bread this past year with her daddy and it's been their thing and she really enjoyed showing me how to do it! But since I didn't really take any photos of the process I decided to make it again so that I could share it on here and this time I made it with Forrest while she was at forest school. He was such a great little helper and loves being involved in every part of the process.

This was my first proper try at making bread and it turned out great and it's also a very easy recipe to follow.

Ingredients:

  • 500g Bread Flour
  • 7g Yeast
  • 1 tablespoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoon Vegetable Oil
  • 300g warm Water
  • 100g of Nettles (can be a bit less or more, I don't think it really matters!)

Instructions:

1. Go for a little walk to forage some fresh Nettles and bring them home and give them a good clean before boiling them in water for about 10 min.

2. Once Nettles have been boiled drain them using a muslin and get as much liquid out as you can. Then chop it all up!
