I have been wanting to make bath bombs again for a while but just never got around to it, one of the things stopping me was that I didn't have all the ingredients but I finally stocked up on some baking soda since it seems to be something we use a lot of in this house at the moment especially with all of the experiments Nixie wants to do. Nixie was so excited about making them again and I love this recipe because it's super quick and doesn't call for a lot of ingredients.

We all love a good soak in the bath and a bath is always better when you have bath bombs at least we think so.

For these we tried something new and added dried rose petals which were from our garden last summer and we added rose geranium which just made them smell so good!

Materials:
1 cup baking soda
1/4 cup citric acid
Red food colouring, a few drops
Geranium rose essential oil, 5 drops
2 tbsp. water
Dried Rose petals
Heart shaped silicone moulds

Instructions:
1. Mix baking soda and citric acid together. Add food colouring and essential oil. Mix.

2. Add in water, a small teaspoon at a time. This is super important! If you add it too quickly the whole batch will fizz and bubble and rise and you wont be able to make anything out of it. I had forgotten this and the first batch I did exploded, Nixie and Forrest loved it though, they thought it was amazing!

3. Spoon mixture into moulds and add rose petals to the top by gently pressing them in and then pop into the freezer to set. (I made the mistake in the first batch of mixing the petals into the mixture and they just didn't hold together and just crumbled instead but having them just in the top worked perfectly).

4.Should be ready to use in an hour or just leave to set overnight.
