Cactus Rocks
Our house is filled with rocks and sticks collected from our adventures and this is a great little craft to do with all those rocks lying around and it is super easy to do!
Rock Photo Holders
These are so easy to do and really add a bit colour to your space and would also make great little gifts for your friends.
Learning About Rocks!
Making edible igneous, metamorphic & sedimentary rock treats. Making Rock crayons. Making a starburst Rock Cycle.
Learning about Volcanoes
Learning about Volcanoes is always a great subject and we did several hands on experiments: The classic baking soda volcano, A pompeii diorama, built a volcanic mountain with glue, made some art and baked volcano cupcakes.
Learning about Earthquakes
While we were learning about earthquakes we had three hands on projects to go with it. The first was a Vegan "Jello" Earthquake Demo, A model Seismometer and lastly we had a STEM challenge: Build an earthquake resistant structure.
Cotton Baked Mushroom Ornaments!
Here are my cotton baked Fly Agarics! I've been wanting to try this since last year and even though they aren't perfect I love how they turned out!
Layers of the Earth Model
This is such a fun little project to do if you are learning about the different layers of the Earth and once you have finished it you can have fun playing with the homemade playdough!
We are all Stardust Mobile
We had just begun our earth studies and learned how the earth was formed 4.6 billion years ago from dust, gas and rock. We talked about how everything on Earth, including us, came from the same "stuff". We talked about how we are connected to the rocks, the trees, the animals, to every human being and how we are all connected in this vast web of life.
