Wolf Marble Art
One day last week Nixie woke up wanting to learn all about Arctic wolves (pretty great timing too since the full moon this month is called the Wolf Moon) so after we had read through books and searched the internet for information and watched some videos and an amazing documentary it was time to do something creative.
Ancient Oaks In The New Forest
We have had an incredible couple of weeks going on adventures in the forest in search of Ancient Oaks. The inspiration came from our January subscription box from The Little Naturalist Club. We did a little research online and managed to find a list of some of the ancient Oaks in the New Forest.
Sandy Salt Dough Ornaments
We have been heading to our little beach a lot lately and it's always been such a source of comfort for all of us. I was feeling a bit sentimental and wanted to create something with all of the treasures we are always collecting there so decided to make some sandy salt dough ornaments.
A Super Easy Solar System Diorama
On this particular morning Nixie woke up and wanted to do a project about the solar system so we decided to make our own DIY solar system diorama. It's funny how a topic that hasn't been mentioned really in months can all of a sudden come back with such a vengeance!
Easy LED Constellation Art Project
Last week we started learning about constellations and decided to make some artwork with a few of them. I really wanted to do something with LED lights and use them to light up the stars of the constellation and I couldn't have been more happy with the result!!
Easy Yarn Rainbows & Macrame Feathers & Leaves
We love rainbows in this house and this was such a sweet little project that was easy for little hands to do and it didn't take very long either so it was almost instant gratification! It is also the same technique we used to make the Macrame feathers.
Vegan Pine Needle Shortbread Cookies
We have been wanting to try to make something using pine needles and finally got around to it during our winter solstice celebrations. We spent solstice Eve outside in the forest with one of our special trees, a Scot's pine we named Solveig. And we loved the idea that we were making something with pine needles foraged from her.
Gorse Cordial
This is our first cordial of the year and Gorse cordial is by far our favourite! We are very lucky to have this growing all around us in the New Forest and we love that it is something we are able to forage and make in the midst of winter.
