Polymer Clay Coral Reef
I really loved doing this project with Nixie and it ended up turning into a bit of a family project and Kevin joined in too. We had spent a lot of time reading, watching videos and learning about coral reefs and wanted to make our own coral reef diorama inspired by our favourite kinds of corals. We didn't finfish this project in one day but worked on it over a period of time.
Polymer Clay Coral Reef
What You'll Need:
- Polymer clay in lots of colours
- A round piece of cardboard for your base
- a used yoghurt tin or something similar to go on top of your base
- blue paint
- paint brush
- clay tools
- glue gun
- books for inspiration
How To Do It:
1. Paint your base and your yoghurt tin. Let dry.
2. Using your glue gun attach the yoghurt tin to your base so that it is in the centre and so that you have room to add your coral around it.
3. Look at a variety of corals and have fun trying to make similar ones out of the clay
4. Bake according to the package instructions.
5, When you have finished making all of your coral it is time to superglue them on to your base!
