Making An Articulated Grabber
To continue with our simple machine topic, today we made this super simple Articulated Grabber to demonstrate another kind of lever. This was such an easy project to do and Forrest really loved putting it together and he especially loved playing with it after.

Supplies Needed:
- Cardboard
- Skewer
- Double-Sided tape
- Ruler/Measuring Tape
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Split Pins
Instructions
- First cut your cardboard strips. You will need 6 strips 22x3cm and 2 6x3cm.
- Next, attach your small strips to your long strips using double sided tape.
- Now measure where the middle of your strips are and make a mark. Also make a mark about 1 cm from the edge (leave two of the long ones with only one hole at the top). Then using your skewer make the holes.
- Next, begin attaching them together. Start with the two long strips that only have two holes in them and line up the middle hole and put in a split pin
- Next grab the next two long strips that have three holes in them and connect them to each side using the split pins and then one in the middle.

- Finally grab the last two strips and make sure that the "claws" are facing out when you attach them.
- Now see what you can grab with them! (it needs to be something very light!)
