Make Your Own Foraging Bag!
We used the ancient technique of Tataki Zome, the Japanese art of transferring botanical dyes from flowers and leaves onto fabric simply by hammering them onto the surface. This is such a fun and simple project to do with he kids and afterwards they had their very own foraging bag!
Tataki Zome Botanical Foraging Bag
we love making these and have made them several times in our house.
What You'll Need:
- A blank canvas bag
- lots of leaves and flowers
- a mallet
- paper towel
- cardboard
How To Do It:
1. Lay out your bag on a flat surface and put your piece of cardboard inside the bag (this is so that the print doesn't go through to the other side)
2 Now lay out your leaves and flowers in whatever pattern you like
3. Cover with paper towel and hammer away until you can see the transfer of dye and then gently take your paper towels off.
4. Your bag is now ready for your next foraging adventure!
