Freshwater Mixed Media Painting
We have been learning about bodies of water and one of the creative projects that we did alongside that were these freshwater mixed media paintings. I asked Nixie & Forrest what type of body of water they wanted to focus on and they decided on Freshwater lakes so we spent some time researching what kind of fish live there and which were their favourites.

What You'll Need:
- Watercolour paper
- watercolour paints
- brushes
- straw
- string or yearn in different colours to match your scene
- masking tape to tape down your paper and create a frame
- print outs of your favourite fish
- glue stick
How To Do It:
1. First create a "wash" which just means dipping your brush in lots of water and watercolour and spreading it all over your paper. Nixie used this as an opportunity to move the water around with a straw. Let dry.
2. Once dry, glue on your fish. Then glue on your string and your masterpiece is finished!
