Cotton Baked Mushroom Ornaments!
Cotton Baked Mushroom Ornaments!
Here are my cotton baked Fly Agarics! I've been wanting to try this since last year and even though they aren't perfect I love how they turned out!
What You'll Need:
- Wire
- Cotton Roll
- Masking tape
- Flour
- Water
- Spoon
- Bowl
- Tin Foil
- baking tray
- Super Glue
- Sticks
What To Do:
1. Cut a piece of wire as long as you want your mushroom to be and make a ring at the bottom so that it can stand. Also make a loop at the top so that you can hang it.
2. Attach some masking tape sticky side up to your wire to make the next stage easier
3. Begin wrapping your cotton around your wire until you have the shape that you want. This was a bit tricky and took some experimenting.
4. Now make your little tinfoil platforms that your mushrooms will sit on in the oven and put them onto your baking tray. Just crumple them into a flattish disk.
5.Next make your glue mixture by adding equal parts flour and equal parts water.
6. Now begin pouring your mixture on. This isn't the easiest part and can get quite messy but they're not meant to be perfect so embrace the imperfection!
6. Place into the oven at low heat for about an hour
7. When done baking now it's time to paint them!
8. Hang them to dry.
9. Once dry, glue on your sticks and they are finished!
