Assemblage sculpture
Another type pf sculpture we learned about was Assemblage sculpture which is made by assembling different elements together, often everyday objects found by the artist or bought especially. We decided to go scavenge in our house and see what bits and bobs we could find to make some art with!
But before we began creating we learned about the artist Louise Nelson and looked at her monochromatic assemblage pieces and decided to do ours as monochromatic sculptures too. We looked at some of her artworks online. and watched the narrated book below.
We also looked at some other assemblage artists online and we especially love the amazing work by Thomas Deininger

Here's what you need:
- Thick cardboard to use as a base (any shape will do!)
- Random bits and bob from your house or from nature
- Glue Gun
- Glue sticks
- Scissors
- Spray paint
How we did it:
- Collect your stuff to be used for your project. Cut your cardboard to your desired shape (we made hearts). Begin gluing your stuff onto your cardboard!
- Make sure the glue is dry and you are happy with them.
- Finally spray paint them and allow them to dry! (make sure to do this outside!)
